Paul Howard  – Chairpaul_1

Paul Howard is a director and partner at Howard Education Ltd, which delivers a range of training and consultancy to schools, local authorities, trusts and professional associations.

Formerly a youth worker, teacher, lecturer and headteacher, Paul has over forty years’ experience as a professional educator, including a period as Co-ordinator of the Behaviour Improvement Programme for the Hastings & St Leonards Excellence Cluster. He has particular interests in behaviour, relational aspects of teaching & learning and conflict resolution.

Paul has recently embarked on a ‘third age’ career as a writer of fiction and has been Chairperson of the Board of Trustees since February 2015.


Allison Baines allison_1

 

Allison has lived in St Leonards for 25 years. She retired from teaching in 2014 having spent 40 years working in primary schools in Kent and East Sussex. She has a particular interest in the educational provision for children with SEND and whilst Headteacher at a local school set up a facility for children with autism. She has been involved with EFT from its earliest beginnings and is proud to be a trustee.


Baroness Steadman-Scott – Patron BSS

Baroness Stedman-Scott has been a member of the House of Lords since 2010 and is currently the Deputy Chairman of Committees. She is an ex-CEO of Tomorrows People Trust Ltd and a govenor of Bexhill Academy.  We welcome her wealth of knowledge and experiences.

Baroness Stedman-Scott is also the Patron of the trust.


Claire Bottomley

Kim has lived in the town for over thirty years and was a local primary school teacher for much of that time. She is currently Deputy Leader of Hastings Borough Council and is an ex mayor of the town. Kim is also an East Sussex County Councillor. She is pleased to have been a Trustee from the inception of the Education Futures Trust.


Martin Yeandle martin

Martin is a Lloyds’ bank manager and was previously the Business Connector from Business in the Community.


 

Simon Hubbard SimonHubbardImage

Simon is currently Director of Operational Services at Hastings Borough Council and has been working for various local authorities for many years.

Simon stated “I am passionate about the work that Education Futures Trust achieves as they are offering significant support and opportunity to excluded families who often face the most enormous challenges in helping their children escape cycles of deprivation and exclusion.”


Steve Manwaring steve

Steve Manwaring is the Director of Hastings Voluntary Action and advised the founder members of EFT on the establishment of an educational trust. He holds a legal qualification and was formally Deputy Leader of a Local Authority. Currently Steve also serves on behalf of the University of Brighton as a Director of the Hastings and St Leonards Academies. Steve was also one of the founder Trustees of the Sussex Community Foundation – a philanthropic organisation which has distributed over 5 million pounds to community groups in Sussex


 

Ruth AshendenRuth

Ruth Ashenden is an Independent Financial Adviser who has also worked in banking and the law. She worked in financial services litigation in several law firms in London and was a senior solicitor in two large financial institutions. Ruth has also been a Trustee of ‘Dress for Success’, a charity which provides suitable interview clothes to women to enable them to obtain jobs. She has also been involved in the Adult Literacy Scheme.
